Ripening ritual
CONCEPT
Ripen your own mangoes
At Aurofarm, mangoes are not rushed to perfection-they are allowed to arrive at it.
Your mangoes are harvested at the right moment, still firm, so that the final stage of ripening happens with you. This transforms a simple act into a quiet ritual-one of anticipation, observation, and reward.
To ripen your own fruit is to experience mangoes not as a product, but as a process.
The Art of Ripening
Your mangoes will continue to ripen naturally over the coming days, gradually developing their aroma, softness, and sweetness.
The process
- Mangoes arrive firm, intentionally harvested before full ripeness.
- Place them back in the box with a natural ripening companion-such as a ripe banana or apple. (Keep it close, but not in direct contact.)
- Store the box at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and heat.
- Cover lightly with a breathable cloth (such as jute or cotton) to retain warmth.
- Over time, the skin will transition from green to warm hues of yellow and orange.
Know it ready
- A gentle softness when pressed
- A rich, fragrant aroma at the stem
- A sweetness that deepens with each passing day
After ripening
Once ripe, refrigerate if needed and consume within a few days for the best experience.
A final note
There is no exact timeline.
Nature does not follow urgency-it follows balance.
Observe, wait, and allow the fruit to arrive at its moment.
